COVINGTON, La. — Ampirical has established the Ampirical STEM Scholarship Fund through the Northshore Community Foundation, committing $25,000 annually for a minimum of three years to support students in North Louisiana pursuing careers in STEM and project management-related fields.
The scholarship fund was created in conjunction with Ampirical’s work connecting the Richland Parish Data Center near Monroe, one of the largest data center developments in the country, to the power grid. As the region undergoes rapid growth tied to the project, Ampirical is investing in the next generation of the local workforce that will help sustain it.
The fund will award up to $7,000 annually to each of two students pursuing a four-year degree, and up to $4,000 annually to each of two students enrolled in a two-year or technical program. Awards are renewable annually. Should funds remain after these awards are distributed, additional scholarships may be granted at the discretion of the fund.
To be eligible, students must reside in or attend school within north Louisiana, demonstrate financial need, and be pursuing a STEM or project management-related field of study at a college, university, or vocational/technical institute in the region. Awards are renewable annually, and selection is based on financial need, academic performance, standardized test scores, school activities, and a personal essay.
“North Louisiana is experiencing unprecedented opportunity, and we want local students to be an integral part of it – not standing on the sidelines, but helping shape the region’s future,” said Matthew Saacks, CEO of Ampirical. “Connecting one of the largest data center developments in the country to the grid is going to open real career opportunities in this area for years to come. This scholarship fund is our way of making sure local students have a clear path into those opportunities.”
The Ampirical STEM Scholarship Fund reflects the company’s broader commitment to Louisiana communities, pairing its expertise in power delivery infrastructure with a long-term investment in local talent and education.
Applications will open November 1, 2026, and close March 5, 2027, with recipients announced in May 2027. Interested students can apply at northshorefoundation.org. Scholarship funds will be disbursed in two installments each year, with the first payment made at the start of the Fall 2027 semester and the second in the Spring.
